Supplication when prostrating due to recitation of the Quran

Dua for the prostration of recitation — my face prostrates to its Creator Open ↗

سَجَـدَ وَجْهِـي لِلَّـذِي خَلَقَـهُ وَشَقَّ سَمْـعَـهُ وَبَصَـرَهُ بِحَـوْلِـهِ وَقُـوَّتِـهِ
﴿ فَتَبَـارَكَ اللَّـهُ أَحْسَـنُ الْـخَـالِقِيْـن ﴾

Sajada wajhī lilladhī khalaqahu wa šaqqa sam‘ahu wa baṣarahu biḥawlihi wa quwwatih
﴾ tabāraka llāhu aḥsanu l-khāliqīn ﴿

Translation

My face fell prostrate before He who created it and brought forth its faculties of hearing and seeing by His might and power.
﴾ So Blessed is Allah, the best of creators ﴿

When to recite

During the prostration of recitation (sujood al-tilawah).

اللَّهُـمَّ اكْتُـبْ لِـي بِهَـا عِنْـدَكَ أَجْـراً ، وَضَـعْ عَنِّـي بِهَـا وِزْراً ، وَاجْعَلهَـا لِـي عِنْـدَكَ ذُخْـراً ، وَتَقَبَّـلْهَـا مِنِّـي كَمَـا تَقَبَّلْتَهَـا مِنْ عبْـدِكَ دَاوُدَ

Allāhumma ktub lī bihā ‘indaka ajran, wa ḍa‘ ‘annī bihā wizran, wa j‘alhā lī ‘indaka dhukhran, wa taqabbalhā minnī kamā taqabbaltahā min ‘abdika Dāwūd.

Translation

O Allah, record for me a reward for this (prostration), and remove from me a sin. Save it for me and accept it from me just as You had accepted it from Your servant Daawud.

When to recite

During the prostration of recitation (sujood al-tilawah).
