Remembrance after salam

أَسْـتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ (ثَلَاثًا)
اللَّهُـمَّ أَنْـتَ السَّلَامُ، وَمِـنْكَ السَّـلَامُ، تَبَـارَكْـتَ يَا ذَا الْجَـلَالِ وَالْإِكْـرَامِ

Astaghfiru llāh. (three times)
Allāhumma anta s-salām, wa minka s-salām, tabārakta yā dha l-jalāli wa l-ikrām.

Translation

I ask Allah for forgiveness. (three times)
O Allah, You are As-Salam and from You is all peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honour.

When to recite

Immediately after completing the prayer (after the salam).

لَا إِلَـهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْـدَهُ لَا شَـرِيكَ لَـهُ، لَـهُ الْمُـلْكُ وَلَـهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَـى كُلِّ شَـيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، اللَّهُـمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِـمَا أَعْطَـيْتَ، وَلَا مُعْطِـيَ لِمَـا مَنَـعْتَ، وَلَا يَـنْفَـعُ ذَا الْجَـدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَـدُّ

Lā ilāha illa llāhu waḥdahu lā šarīka lah, lahu l-mulku wa lahu l-ḥamd, wa huwa ‘alā kulli šay’in qadīr, allāhumma lā māni‘a limā a‘ṭayt, wa lā mu‘ṭiya limā mana‘t, wa lā yanfa‘u dha l-jaddi minka l-jadd.

Translation

None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things omnipotent. O Allah, none can prevent what You have willed to bestow, and none can bestow what You have willed to prevent, and no wealth or majesty can benefit anyone, as from You is all wealth and majesty.

When to recite

After completing the obligatory prayer.

لَا إِلَـهَ إِلَّا اللَّـهُ، وَحْـدَهُ لَا شَـرِيْكَ لَـهُ، لَـهُ الْـمُـلْكُ وَلَـهُ الْـحَمْـدُ، وَهُـوَ عَلَـى كُلِّ شَـيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، لَا حَـوْلَ وَلَا قُـوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّـهِ، لَا إِلَـهَ إِلَّا اللَّـهُ، وَلَا نَعْـبُدُ إِلَّا إِيَّـاهُ، لَـهُ النِّـعْـمَةُ وَلَهُ الْفَضْلُ وَلَـهُ الثَّـنَاءُ الْحَـسَنُ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّـهُ مُخْـلِصِـينَ لَـهُ الـدِّينَ وَلَـوْ كَـرِهَ الْـكَافِـرُونَ

Lā ilāha illa llāh, waḥdahu lā šarīka lah, lahu l-mulku wa lahu l-ḥamd, wa huwa ‘alā kulli šay’in qadīr, lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh, lā ilāha illa llāh, wa lā na‘budu illā iyyāh, lahu n-ni‘matu wa lahu l-faḍl wa lahu th-thanā’u l-ḥasan, lā ilāha illa llāhu mukhliṣīna lahu d-dīn wa law kariha l-kāfirūn.

Translation

None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent. There is no might nor power except with Allah, none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and we worship none except Him. For Him is all favour, grace, and glorious praise. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah and we are sincere in faith and devotion to Him although the disbelievers detest it.

When to recite

After completing the obligatory prayer.

Hisnul Muslim 68

سُـبْحَـانَ اللَّـهِ، وَالْـحَمْـدُ لِلَّـهِ، وَاللَّـهُ أَكْـبَرُ. (ثلاثاً وثلاثين)
لَا إِلَـهَ إِلَّا اللَّـهُ وَحْـدَهُ لَا شَـرِيكَ لَـهُ، لَـهُ الْمُـلْكُ وَلَـهُ الْـحَـمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَـدِيـرٌ

Subhanal-lah walhamdu lillah, wallahu akbar (thirty-three times).
La ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeer.

Translation

How perfect Allah is, all praise is for Allah, and Allah is the greatest. (thirty-three times)
‘None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent.’

When to recite

After completing the obligatory prayer.

Hisnul Muslim 69

The following three chapters should be recited once after Dhuhr, 'Asr, and 'Eshaa prayers and thrice after Fajr and Maghrib.

Qur’anic verse

بِسْـمِ اللَّـهِ الـرَّحْـمَنِ الرَّحِـيمِ
قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ * ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ * لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ * وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ

بِسْـمِ اللَّـهِ الـرَّحْـمَنِ الرَّحِـيمِ
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ * مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ * وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ * وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّـٰثَـٰتِ فِى ٱلْعُقَدِ * وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ

بِسْـمِ اللَّـهِ الـرَّحْـمَنِ الرَّحِـيمِ
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ * مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ * إِلَـٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ * مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ * ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ * مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ

112. Surah Al-Ikhlas
Bismi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm.
Qul huwa llāhu aḥad. Allāhu ṣ-ṣamad. Lam yalid wa lam yūlad. Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan aḥad.

113. Surah Al-Falaq
Bismi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm.
Qul a‘ūdhu bi-rabbi l-falaq. Min šarri mā khalaq. Wa min šarri ghāsiqin idhā waqab. Wa min šarri n-naffāthāti fi l-‘uqad. Wa min šarri ḥāsidin idhā ḥasad.

114. Surah An-Nas
Bismi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm.
Qul a‘ūdhu bi-rabbi n-nās. Maliki n-nās. Ilāhi n-nās. Min šarri l-waswāsi l-khannās. Alladhī yuwaswisu fī ṣudūri n-nās. Mina l-jinnati wa n-nās.

Translation

112. Surah Al-Ikhlas
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful
Say, "He is Allāh, [who is] One, * Allāh, the Eternal Refuge, * He neither begets nor is born, * Nor is there to Him any equivalent."

113. Surah Al-Falaq
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, * From the evil of that which He created, * And from the evil of darkness when it settles, * And from the evil of the blowers in knots * And from the evil of an envier when he envies."

114. Surah An-Nas
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, * The Sovereign of mankind, * The God of mankind, * From the evil of the retreating whisperer,
* Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind, * From among the jinn and mankind."

When to recite

(Surahs 112 al-Ikhlas, 113 al-Falaq, and 114 an-Nas) These Surahs should be recited in Arabic after each prayer. After the Maghrib and Fajr prayers, they should be recited three times each.

It is also from the sunnah to recite the verse of the Ayat-Al-Kursī (Footstool) after each prayer:

Qur’anic verse

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٌۭ وَلَا نَوْمٌۭ ۚ لَّهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَىْءٍۢ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

Allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa l-ḥayyu l-qayyūm. Lā ta’khudhuhu sinatun wa lā nawm. Lahu mā fi s-samāwāti wa mā fi l-arḍ. Man dha lladhī yašfa‘u ‘indahu illā bi’idhnih. Ya‘lamu mā bayna aydīhim wa mā khalfahum, wa lā yuḥīṭūna bi-šay’in min ‘ilmihi illā bimā šā’. Wasi‘a kursiyyuhu s-samāwāti wa l-arḍ, wa lā ya’ūduhu ḥifẓuhumā. Wa huwa l-‘aliyyu l-‘aẓīm.
Al-Baqarah 2:255

Translation

Allāh - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

After each obligatory prayer.

(عشر مرات بعد الْمغـرب والصـبحِ)

Lā ilāha illa llāhu waḥdahu lā šarīka lah, lahu l-mulku wa lahu l-ḥamd, yuḥyī wa yumīt, wa huwa ‘alā kulli šay’in qadīr.
(10 times after the maghrib and fajr salah)

Translation

None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, He gives life and causes death, and He is over all things omnipotent.

When to recite

After completing the prayer, 10 times after the maghrib and fajr salah

اللَّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي أَسْأَلُـكَ عِلْمًـا نَافِعًـا، وَرِزْقًـا طَيِّـبًا، وَعَمَـلًا مُتَقَـبَّلًا
(بَعْد السّلامِ من صَلاةِ الفَجْر)

Allāhumma innī as’aluka ‘ilman nāfi‘an wa rizqan ṭayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan.
(To be said once after the Fajr prayer, following the salām)

Translation

O Allah, I ask You for knowledge which is beneficial and sustenance which is good, and deeds which are acceptable.

When to recite

After completing the salah, To be said once after the Fajr prayer, following the salām.

Footnotes

Dua after salam — You are As-Salam, the source of peace

AS-Salam: The One Who is free from all defects and deficiencies.

Ayat Al-Kursī (recited after the prayer)

Ever-Living: Whose life is perfect, complete, and eternal, without beginning or end, and through whom all created life originated and continues.
Self-Sustaining: Dependent on none for His existence while being the sustainer and administrator of all created existence.
What will be after them: Allāh's knowledge encompasses every aspect of His creations in the past, present, and future.
His Kursī: Chair or footstool. It is not to be confused with al-ʿArsh (the Throne), which is infinitely higher and greater than al-Kursī.
He is the Most High: Above all of His creations and superior to them in essence, rank and position.
The Most Great: Whose greatness is unlimited, beyond description or imagination.
